Cairo: The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, has expressed approval of the recent positions taken by China and France, which emphasize the importance of creating the necessary conditions for the effective implementation of the two-state solution. This approach is viewed as the only viable path to achieving enduring peace and security.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Al-Yamahi also lauded the two nations for their endorsement of the "New York Declaration," issued last September and recently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. This declaration focuses on resolving the Palestinian question through the two-state solution framework.
Al-Yamahi further welcomed the commitment to fully implementing the ceasefire agreement established in Sharm El-Sheikh on October 9th, urging all parties to avoid actions that could jeopardize this agreement. He also emphasized the importance of the swift and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip.
The Chinese president's pledge of $100 million in aid to the Palestinian people, aimed at alleviating humanitarian issues in Gaza, was also praised by Al-Yamahi. He highlighted that this aid reflects China's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and its efforts to collaborate with the international community for a sustainable ceasefire and a just political resolution based on the two-state solution.
Finally, the Speaker affirmed that the stances of China and France demonstrate their commitment to achieving just peace and stability in the region, which requires honoring the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
