Cairo: Palestine's Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, today briefed Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt, Angelina Eichhorst, on the latest developments related to the Palestinian cause.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting took place at the headquarters of the Palestinian delegation in Cairo. Discussions included the implications of Security Council Resolution 2803, highlighting the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire and ensuring the swift entry of relief and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
The dialogue further addressed the positions of the League of Arab States and the European Union on the significance of the Palestinian government's role and presence in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the meeting underscored the continuation of international efforts to realize the independence of the State of Palestine. This discussion occurred against the backdrop of recent recognitions and the convening of the conference on the Two-State solution at the United Nations headquarters, which culminated in the issuance of the New York Declaration. This declaration outlines practical steps toward implementing the two-state solution.
