The National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji and Head of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Gerold Vollmer, stressed the importance of making more efforts to prevent the region from being dragged into a regional war. The Chancellery stated in a statement: "During the meeting in Al-Araji's office and in the presence of the Austrian Ambassador to Baghdad, Andre Nasi, the two sides discussed strengthening and developing relations between the two countries in all fields, in addition to discussing developments in the security situation and the recent escalation in the region."
