Activists Fly Palestinian Flag via Drone in Protest at London Rugby Match

London: Activists raised the Palestinian flag via a drone during a rugby match between England and Italy in London, protesting against the Allianz insurance company, which has an insurance agreement with Elbit Systems, one of the largest Israeli arms companies.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, activists from the Palestine Action organization raised the flag at the Allianz Stadium, which hosted the match yesterday. The protest took place during the 67th minute of the match, as part of the Six Nations Rugby Championship.

The organization stated that it targeted Allianz because of its insurance agreement with the Israeli company that produces about 85% of the drones used by the Israeli occupation army. The organization's statement noted: 'Unlike the Elbit drones that are used to kill and maim Palestinians, our drone came peacefully to deliver a message to the stadium owner, Allianz, to stop insuring it.'

The statement further confirmed that Elbit had tested its weapons on Palestinians, emphasizing that "without the insurance provided by Allianz, Elbit would not have been able to produce the weapons that were tested on Palestinians in Britain."

Although the match was briefly halted due to the incidents, it continued later. Commentator Nick Mullins remarked: "If you're wondering why the match was stopped now, it was because of a drone flying over the pitch, broadcasting a political message."
