Gaza: Medical sources reported that 360 health workers have been detained since the onset of the genocide on Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. These detainees include doctors with specialized medical expertise, crucial for treating patients and the injured.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the medical sources revealed in a press statement on Monday that the Israeli occupation forces are enforcing stringent restrictions on prisoners, with medical workers facing particularly harsh conditions. The detainees experience difficult and tragic circumstances within the occupation prisons.
The sources highlighted the case of prisoner Hussam Abu Safia, a doctor detained since December 27. His lawyer, during a recent visit, described the severe brutality faced during interrogation, ongoing physical assaults, his deteriorating health condition, and the denial of necessary medical treatment.
