25 Indians charred to death as passenger bus catches fire

At least 25 passengers were charred to death as their bus caught fire in Buldhana district of Maharashtra, police said on Saturday.

The Press Trust of India said quoting local police that the private bus was on its way from Nagpur to Pune in Maharashtra when it rammed into a divider following a tyre burst and turned upside down around 1.30 a.m. at Pimpalkhuta village near Sindkhedraja in Buldhana. The accident took place on the Samruddhi Expressway. Eight people including the driver were taken to nearby hospitals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow for the loss of life and wished speedy recovery of the injured.
